What a Beautiful Gift!

I didn’t expect a Mother’s  Day present,  I was so happy to talk to my very busy, hard-working daughter on our special day- she’s a Mom herself.

… but when I ripped open the box – look what I found! A colorful, beautiful “happy birds” cold bag , monogrammed with Greeneroo and a beautiful stripped blanket – matching colors with a waterproof base. Wonderful, functional and so sweet of her and her family  to think of me! So Happy, So Blessed!

As a working Mom, there were times, I was giving up being with my family, but it meant that we had health insurance, a better life, vacations and more. There were many times I wanted to be with them and a project at work took that time. Now my kids are working hard and striving for their own great success. You cannot go backwards, you can just do your best everyday. The work-life balance is not easy, but the incredible support of my family made it possible for me to go to work. It is wonderful to be acknowledged.

“Love only grows by sharing. You can only have more for yourself by giving it away to others.” — Brian Tracy

You gain strength, experience and confidence by every experience where you really stop to look fear in the face…You must do the thing you cannot do.  — Eleanor Roosevelt

To my family: YOU are the best part of my life ….. everyday. No other accomplishment comes close. Even in hard times. Even with distance. You fill my heart.  Love, Mom.

SF Symphony at Stern Grove July 6! Smokey Robinson June 22!

SF Symphony in Stern Grove
Stern Grove is a SF institution: a beautiful, unique place, and a perfectly relaxing way to spend a Sunday listening to a free concert in SF. This free concert given by the SF Symphony. Come join the fun, get there early to reserve your spot, bring a blanket or a small chair, and enjoy the concert filled with melodies and music you all know and love.
  • Parking is a night mare! There, I said it. Take the bus or plan on a nice hike to the Grove. That makes it fun.
  • Getting to the flat grass area to set up your picnic is a well worn dirt / paved trail.

Entrance at 19th Ave and Sloat Blvd

Treasure Island Wineries, Month-end Flea Market and Art

Treasure Island Wineries and Art
Don’t want to drive to Napa? Why not  sample wine on Treasure Island!
Start at Fat Grape Winery (always a free tasting!), and then stroll on the island to see the SF and Oakland skylines and also view the interesting art.

Stop at least a few more times, select one or two other wineries, there are at least 14 on the island, and even stop to pick up some lunch for a picnic. There are burger places and delis nearby.
Some wineries have a small tasting fee so bring cash for your tasting and food if you don’t want to stop at a deli for the picnic.
It can be windy or foggy, so dress in layers. Comfortable walking shoes are also a good idea.
There are also special events with more activities:
