G Wear’s reputation for being fun, fashionable and eco-friendly is growing among fans and is also quickly becoming a celebrity-loved brand. Wives and significant others of professional athletes are starting to request custom designed G Wear t’s.  This October, G Wear is a proud supporter of the Dallas Country Affiliate of Susan G. Komen. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of each pink ribbon T will be donated to Susan G Komen Dallas County to help support the fight against breast cancer.

The Dallas County Affiliate of Susan G. Komen® is the local source for funding breast cancer education, screening and treatment in Dallas county, serving thousands of Dallas county women in 30 cities. Through events like the Komen Dallas Race for the Cure®, Susan G. Komen® Dallas County invests 75 percent of the funds raised to support vital local breast health services, and dedicates the remaining 25 percent to national research to find the cures.

G Wear began in 2008 as the vision of a local Ft. Worth, Texas eco-friendly fashion designer, Stanley Jackson. His inspiration came from his young daughter who stitched a heart appliqué onto a simple dime store tee shirt. He then created a few sample designs using appliqués cut from recycled tee shirts. They were an instant hit everywhere he went – hence G Wear was born.

In the early days of the company, G Wear was showcased mostly in boutiques in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. In order to realize his dreams of seeing the company grow nationally, Jackson decided to sell his majority interest in G Wear in late 2011 to Michael Wilson, a local Dallas businessman, and member of the 1980 Olympic Gymnastics Team. With an appreciation for Jackson’s talent and unique design style, Wilson is dedicated to seeing G Wear become a huge success.

“It’s important to G Wear to create not only a stylish brand that is eco-friendly and unique but also that we align ourselves with organizations that are in our own backyard.  We are dedicated to doing our part to help those in need” says Wilson. “We have the highest commitment to giving back and it will always be a top priority for us especially when creating a brand that is currently geared for those most effected by breast cancer.”

G Wear is always looking towards the future, creating new designs monthly and developing new products each year. Their licensed sorority line is now on campuses across the U.S. and the company is excited to meet the growing demand for their brand which has appeared on popular blogs across the nation reaching hundreds of thousands of readers and on numerous morning talk shows across the country. G Wear dares you to not fall in love with these T’s!
G Wear has made significant donations of both cash and product over the years to various organizations such as the Pat and Emmitt Smith Foundation, the Lopez Foundation, the Make-A Wish Foundation as well as other various non-profits across the country.

Casting for Recovery

I met an amazing woman last weekend, and she told me about an Inspiring group. Casting for Recovery is a non-profit support and education program for women who have or survived breast cancer. They offer week end retreats that center around Fly Fishing. AND it doesn’t matter one little bit …. if … you have ever fished or thought about fishing before.

Why Fly Fishing? It is a beautiful way to get outside, enjoy the quiet, participate in gentle exercise and its something new and different for many women. Each participant learns many new skills in this catch and release fishing. Take a look at their site, and please share the information that there is another bright light in our world, a group that is ready to support women in this struggle. Casting for Recovery  provides retreats at no cost with trained facilitators on each trip.
